You don’t need to be. There’s no experience level required. If you have a camera and a genuine interest in learning, you’re exactly who these workshops are built for. We’ve guided complete beginners and seasoned hobbyists, and both leave with more than they expected.

Every Algonquin workshop is completely private. It’s just you, and up to two friends if you’d like to bring them. No strangers. No one else’s pace to keep up with. The day moves at whatever speed feels right for you.
“Wildlife sightings aren’t guaranteed. Is it still worth it?”
Honestly, yes. Wildlife is never guaranteed, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We don’t bait, stage, or pressure animals for a photo. What we can promise is that you’ll leave with better skills, more confidence, and a stronger connection to your camera and the natural world, whether or not a moose decides to show up.

What if the weather is bad?
We don’t cancel for basic rain, fog, or snow. Some of the best images of the year come from exactly those conditions. For extreme weather, you can re-book without penalties.
