Celebrating your best friend

Your Best Friend, Just the Way They Are

We specialize in capturing the fun, hilarious and heart-melting moments that celebrate the bond between you and your four-legged best friend. With us, it’s all about genuine connection. No pressure, just tail-waggin’ joy.

Whether it’s wild zoomies through Muskoka’s trails or sittin’ pretty at our Lake of Bays home, each session is tailored to your story, highlighting your pet’s personality in the natural beauty that surrounds us.

This is photography with patience and heart.

We spend most of our year photographing wildlife in Algonquin Park, and we bring that same patience and love of natural light to every pet session. Whether it’s a candid moment on the trail or a classic pose you’ve always wanted, we’ll take our time to capture your dog at their very best.

How It Works

Every session is custom, planned around your pet, your favourite places and the walls you’d love to fill. It isn’t a quick mini session with a download link. It’s an unhurried experience that ends with finished art in your home.

1

Discovery Call & Design

We get to know you and your pet, plan locations, and talk about where your art will live. Local clients get a complimentary in-home design consultation, and everyone farther away gets one by video call.

2

Your Portrait Session

About two unhurried hours at your home, the dock or a favourite trail or two, timed for the best light. Your dog gets time to warm up to us first, and yes, they can stay on leash if needed.

3

The Big Reveal

We present your favourite images and custom wall art designs, shown on your own walls, so you can choose what you love. Local clients enjoy their reveal at home, with coffee for you and a treat for your pup. Farther away? We’ll do it by video call.

4

Delivered & Installed

Your wall art and prints are made right here in Canada, and we install your wall art for you. Every portrait comes with its high-resolution digital file.

A few things people wonder

Questions Before You Book

“I’m worried my dog isn’t well behaved enough!”

You’re not the only one who feels this way. Most of the dogs we photograph are not supermodels with years of obedience training. We allow plenty of time for your dog to settle in and simply be a dog, and we work patiently to capture the magic within your pup.

If for any reason we’re unable to capture any images, your deposit is refunded. It’s that simple.

My dog can’t be off leash. Is that a problem?

Not a problem at all. Most leashes and collars can be removed in Photoshop. We can also use a long lead during the session to get those wide open shots without sacrificing safety. Your pet’s well-being is always our top priority, and we only suggest off-leash if you are fully confident in your pet’s ability to stay close.

Sadly my dog’s health is declining fast. Can you accommodate a time-sensitive request?

We are so sorry to hear that. Please reach out right away. We will do everything we can to fit you in as soon as possible.

Can owners and kids be in the photos too?

Absolutely. We encourage you and your family to be in a few photos with your pet. We’ll discuss your preferences before the session so we don’t miss any important images.

How much does a pet portrait session cost?

Every session is custom, from the location to the art designed for your walls, so a one-size price list wouldn’t tell you much. On your discovery call we’ll learn what you have in mind and walk you through our full collection guide, with no pressure. To help you plan: portrait collections begin at $1,490, each one includes a gift credit toward upgrades or extra pieces, and your booking deposit is credited in full toward your order.

Do you photograph other animals?

Yes. Whether they are furry, scaly, cold-blooded or warm-blooded, big or small, we would love to hear about them.

How long are your photo sessions?

Plan on about two hours together. We start with a relaxed meet and greet so your dog can sniff us out, get comfortable with the camera and get to know us. Then we take our time, often visiting a couple of favourite spots and timing it for the best morning or evening light. Your dog sets the pace, with plenty of breaks for water, treats and zoomies. We only book one session per day, so we’re never watching the clock.

What if the weather is bad on the day of our session?

We keep an eye on the forecast and will touch base the day before if the weather looks questionable. If it’s unsafe or just not ideal, we’ll happily reschedule at no additional cost.

How many images will I get to choose from?

Typically between 30 and 60 curated images, depending on how your pet does and how many locations we used. You are never pressured to choose more than you love.

Can I upgrade my collection after seeing the gallery?

Absolutely. Many clients fall in love with more images than they expected. You can upgrade your collection or add individual images, artwork or prints.

Can you help me choose images for wall art?

Yes, and we love doing that. During your reveal and ordering session we’ll guide you to the strongest images for your space, and we can mock up previews using photos of your walls so you can see your artwork before you order. We install every wall portrait ourselves. It’s complimentary within 100 km of Baysville, and farther away we’ll share a simple travel quote up front.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Life happens! If something comes up, just let us know as early as you can and we’ll move your session to a new date, depending on availability. Your deposit simply carries over to your new date.

How far do you travel?

Within 100 kilometres of Baysville, Ontario, there are no additional travel fees. That covers most of Muskoka, Lake of Bays, Huntsville and the Algonquin area. Farther than that? No problem. Whether you’re in Toronto, the GTA or have a cottage outside our area, we’ll happily come to you and share a travel quote up front.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. A pet session makes a wonderful gift. Email info@followmenorth.com and we’ll send a digital certificate or mail a printed one.

Let’s Create Something Beautiful Together
